DAVID PHILLIPS | Keyboards & Vocals
David brings his rich, immediately recognizable vocal sound to The Pleasure Pilots. His undeniably authentic rhythm 'n blues piano and organ style securely fastens the band's rhythm section to its blues roots. He was a founding member of the Foggy Bottom Blues Band, a popular Washington DC band in the 1960's. David has played with many groups in New Mexico, including with The Bumpers, The Arroyo Kings, The Soul Deacons, and Freddy Fender.
FRED SPENCER | Guitar & Vocals
The progenitor of The Pleasure Pilots, Fred's dynamic and creative guitar playing has excited audiences for years and is only surpassed by his powerfully soulful and bluesy vocals. In New Mexico, Fred has played with bands like The Emergency Blues Band, The Kingpins, Big Step, The Range Busters, Sweet Sister, and The Soul Deacons.
RAY GRIFFIN | Saxophones
Ray's richly transparent and bluesy sound is made even more effective due to his deep melodic sensibility. In Northern California and Seattle, Ray played with The Moss Bros. Blues Band, Wickerman, Collins & Lewis, Hotcakes, Two Weeks Notice, and The Bishop Mayfield Band. In New Mexico, he has appeared in jazz bands Savant and Impulse, as well as with Terry Diers and Yaje, Hillary Smith & The GTs', Busy McCarroll & The Ambassadors of Pleasure, and more…
TERRY BLUHM | Upright & Electric Bass
Terry's strong, reliable, tone-filled, and just downright great bass playing gives the band and the listener an "easy in" to the groove, funk, and swing of the Pleasure Pilots. Terry has been a long-time player in the New Mexico music scene with many bands, including Thunderama, Jasper, Bayou Seco, and Felix y Los Gatos.

In Dave’s prolific 35+ year career, he has performed and/or recorded with the legendary likes of Carlos Santana, Babatunde Olatunji, Ornette Coleman, The Holmes Brothers, Kathryn Russell, Jaco Pastorious, Alan Pasqua, Coco Montoya, Dave Douglas, Adrian Belew, Dizzy Gillespie, Pinetop Perkins, Richard Lloyd, El Negro, Michael Spiro, Dr. Osamu Katijima, Cecilia Noel, Chris Calloway, Tim Pierce, Robert Mirabel, Hank Roberts, Kermit Driscoll, Reggie Wooten, Randy Tico, Al MacDowell, Lawson Rollins, Shahin Shahida, Airto Moreare, Flora Purim, Mads Tolling and Alex Murzyn.
When he’s not bringing down the house with his bombastic drum-stylings, he shares his knowledge with the next generation of young musicians as a teacher in his hometown of Albuquerque, NM.

He has also played with The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra, and The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra.
